Who We Are

Two Mountain Company is Gene Wixson’s company. He’s a one-man show specializing in temporary power pole installation and excavation.

How it all began: When he was 6-years-old, Gene asked his grandfather to help him build a treehouse.  He replied, “I’ll help you, but first create a materials list.” Thus began Gene’s building career. Since then, Gene has been around the world (Antarctica, Suriname, British Columbia, Wyoming, Hood River), building all sorts of flavors of structures (timber frame, heritage restoration, bridges, passive house, custom homes, etc), and learning many of the trades (electrical, plumbing, drywall, welding/fabricating, heavy equipment operation, etc). In 2014, Gene identified a growing demand for safe, efficient pole installation, as well as the need for skilled excavators – thus, this iteration of Two Mountain Company was born.
